These services are delivered in a pure vendor agnostic fashion with no technology agenda whatsoever and focussed purely on enabling the client to achieve the greatest return from their capital and operational investment. Where new technology features are deemed to be of benefit, 4sl will present the case for further investment purely in terms of improvement and return, leaving the client to negotiate with the appropriate vendor should he wish to do so.
The Health Check component is similar in approach to the broader data protection maturity assessment being a combination of workshop discussions, data capture from the appropriate backup tools and a review of product configuration. The output will be a Health Check report, summarising the quality of the current solution in terms of service, performance and reliability. The recommendations will focus on technology improvements through best practice configuration and introduction of new features.
The remediation component is very dependent on the outcome from the assessment, the recommendations discovered and the ambition level of the client. Whilst these can be delivered fixed price, the level of investment required can only be determined once the Health Check has been completed and reviewed.
The ambition from a Remediation and Optimisation exercise is to deliver quality of service in line with the typical service levels delivered by 4sl within its own managed service offerings. In fact 4sl often executes its Health Check and Remediation service on an existing environment prior to incorporating into a manage service contract.
